my  bloody valentineMusic Fix With Pogo:My Bloody Valentine return!! The forefathers of fuzzy indie rock are back in an earth-shattering reunion. And they're coming to Chicago.


There are bands who are household names that inspired countless other groups in their wake (take The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, or Ramones for example). Then there are groups who created an entire genre, and influenced legions of followers in a much more quiet manner. Well, "quiet" in a worldwide mass-appeal way, because there was nothing quiet about My Bloody Valentine, and their practice of turning everything up PAST ten. Creators of the "shoegaze" genre, the band met its premature demise in the early 90's, but have shocked the music world with a reunion. They're doing big festivals the world over, plus a US tour that includes a Sept. 27th stop at the Aragon. As well, a 4th album (that was begun in '96 and is said to be "3/4 done") will supposedly get completed. Their 1991 record 'Loveless' is a timeless classic, and here's "Only Shallow" from it:
