i live about 15-20 miles from niu. it hits very close to home and have been sickened by this horrific trajedy. the families of the victims as well as the students that are affected are in my mind, heart and prayers. we hear about trajedies like this "somewhere else", but when it occurs so close to home it hits hard.
i am a nurse and a member of the small town community in this area and have to say that i'm VERY proud of how the area towns responded and how kishwaukee hospital conducted itself. it proves how small towns can serve the needs of it's community even on a grand scale.
